Howard’s passion for sustainability began over three decades ago with the study of interaction between energy systems. In 1982 he built his first passive solar home powered by photovoltaics. His current 200m² “zero carbon” residence generates 98% of its energy renewably.
Howard has provided advice to a range of businesses and individuals including designers, manufacturers, property developers, resource recoverers, architects, builders/owner builders.
Projects of particular interest to Howard are micro/mini distributed energy (DE) grids, alternate transport fuels, energy storage devices, building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), resource recovery (solid and liquid), and 3G PV.
Many of the products, processes and services of the low carbon economy will begin in the workshops of small business and individuals. Howard can help these innovators with project analysis and concept development assistance based on his extensive knowledge of emerging low carbon technologies and his wealth of real world sustainability experience.
Howard conducts workshops on Rethinking Energy, Renewable Energy Systems, and Emerging Technologies. Workshops can be delivered in tandem with the development of your business sustainability plan or as stand-alone events. Previous technical knowledge is not required.
